Today's discussion was again interesting. I liked how we talked on the topic of post-Christian culture. I am more of a deep thinker so sometimes it takes me time to fully understand something, so after I thought about it awhile, I came

to an agreement that we as Christians in America do assume we wield authority. Memorizing Bible verses and shouting out what is Right to society all the time puts a deaf ear on them. In all honesty, they don't give a shit anymore. What we may be saying may actually be Right, but the way we go about trying to prove it is faulty, in my opinion. The videos we watched in class today seemed to demonstrate how messages can get across without even saying a word or making a huge deal out of something. To appeal to people through reason is one way; another way is through art, as I learned from this class. And I believe another way to get people to listen and care is through comedy. Now of course, that seems like a relatively short list and I am sure there are more ways to appeal but off the top of my head, those three candidates seem to fit. I just wish sometimes that Christians would do something, and unfortunately when they actually do something, it is not always in the best manner possible and sometimes turns others off.
