Sigur Ros

I have such a great appreciation of these guys now. Before class on Tuesday I had never even heard of them and now they are probably in my top ten. Glosoli is an amazing song with an amazing video that tells a familiar story that's just beautiful. I always am looking for new music and I'm really surprised I hadn't heard of these guys before as they are pretty popular in the UK and one of the main types of music I like. Since I ended up liking these guys I spent some time listening to some more of their music and watching some more of their videos.

I learned about something they did in 2012 called the Valtari Film Experiment. They were about to release a new album but i guess they didn't really want to talk about it so they gave twelve film makers a budget and told them to make a short film about each song. The film makers were given absolute freedom with no oversight or direction other than the music. From this experiment came sixteen incredible films that all have a incredibly correct feel that matches the music. by building the video around the music as film makers the Valtari experiment created some works of art that in my opinion are unmatched (at least by anything I have seen). This is just really cool and to be honest i think i may have found my new favorite band. I really must recomend taking a look at some of the films
made for this contest because there are some spectacular ones in there. The video above is the short films that was declared the overall winner of Valtari. I suggest taking a look at it, but a bit of a warning it does contain some nudity. We are all adults here so I imagine everyone can handle it.
