Okay, so when I first started hearing about virtual reality,
I was not all that interested because I thought it was just a gimmick. I
thought it just be a something like 3D in movies that had a ‘cool’ factor but
did not really add anything important to the experience. However, after
actually getting to use virtual reality on Thursday, I think I can say I was
wrong. This technology definitely has possibilities for its use in the future
and has the potential to become a great art-form.
The one thing I do still have a problem with is the gear itself. Having the phone attached to a box in front of your face comes off as clunky to me. I feel it’s not enough for me to just have tech be powerful and able to do cool things, I also want it to look nice and be completely user-friendly. I’m sure the gear will eventually get to that point, but I don’t think it’s there yet. None the less, I am still very impressed by VR and think it’s got some real potential.
