Unfairness of World

I think that today's short films were very good. They were a bit dark but I think that is necessary because the world we live in is dark. Those films were realistic, at least from my perspective. The indignation and frustration I felt at the injustice of what was shown I believe was reflected throughout the class and possibly anyone who'd seen it with a right state of mind. The most influential one to me was the Fridge.

This seemed to portray a lot about the world we live in. One thing that I especially noticed was the unfairness and confusion of it all. The world isn't fair and is most certainly confusing at points. The fact that the guy who locked the kid in the fridge came back and took him away as though he was the brother just doesn't make any sense. Also the lack of urgency of the neighbors pissed me off. I now seem to understand that it is most certainly an evil to stand back and watch instead of getting involved. It seems the world likes to stand back sometimes and not get involved in certain things that could be to difficult to deal with and that I think is just not right.

  1. I agree as the fridge really stood out to me. All of the individuals just ignoring the pleas of these people was disgusting and it really does say something about the world we live in. If i was a psych major i might say something about the bystander effect but thats not what was happening in this film. The blatant disregard of a persons life is bad enough but the bystanders had a superiority complex thats very dangerous and is representative to what the we are all like whether we mean to be or not.
