Children's media

I must say that the films we watched on Tuesday really caught my eye. Something about them just seemed so brilliant. I feel like the biblical stories in them were well enough hidden that you wouldn't pick them up unless you knew they were there. The animation style of Tchou Tchou was something i had never seen before so it was really neat to see that. In fact, I actually really enjoyed the style. It's just very original and i love everything about it i couldn't stop watching. Hoedeman's Sand Castle while more usual because of its stop motion animation style still grabbed me and held on in a way most kids media doesn't manage. it seems that there is something more to these films than meets the eye. Hoedeman really had a different take on how things should be presented to children and i think its important to learn from this mans ideals. the biblical nature of his films add a perhaps comfort to the storm and struggle the characters battle but it is good thing that these films aren't just colorful happy feel good mumbo jumbo that kids are being fed. Children need sustenance. They need to be able to feed the hunger of their minds with something. Kids lack real challenge or even recognition of their deep thoughts by most if not all adults and i feel that Hoedeman created some masterpieces that really fulfilled the role.
