The Rabbi's Cat

Megan and I had watched The Rabbi's Cat earlier this week and I thought it was an amazing movie! Leeper already gave away some of the story which is fine but I'm going to summarize it up a little. Pretty much this cat can not talk to his owner. (Shocker) One day the cat eats the family parrot and can talk. He wants to have a Bar Mitzvah and keeps begging the Rabbi. The cat, Rabbi and some others head off to find the fabled African Jerusalem in Ethiopia. Throughout the journey they learn many things and lessons. One of my favorite scenes was the dream scene, although it was weird it was very interesting. The dream scene was very interesting and there was lots of art that went on during it. My favorite part of the dream scene was when the cat was talking about the Rabbi's daughter dying and he keeps dreaming about that and he is sleeping on a red and black checkered floor and the black squares start to come together and surround the cat and then he hops up and changes. I really liked how it flowed together. I also did a little research and it showed that it was nominated for four awards and won three of them. I'm glad it was nominated because I think it was great movie!
