For the Birds was a perfect example of Pixar’s amazing storytelling
that is explained by Greg Singer in The Secret of Pixar Storytelling. The way
Pixar told the simple story of a flock of birds on a wire was engaging and
entertaining. They used the short to further their understanding and abilities as
animators, and to bring to the screen entertainment. This film holds a special
place in my heart because the first movie I can ever remember seeing in
theaters was Monsters Inc. My dad got me tickets to see it for Christmas. When
we went, For the Birds played and I remember almost crying I laughed so hard.
It was a great memory. I was so happy when I saw the birds again in cars during
the Life is a Highway song (1:30 into the YouTube video). Every time I see For the Birds it takes me back
when I was 5 walking into the theater with my dad.
